30 Stories for 30 Years: Leadership Moment – Blaine Morris

As we continue our 30 Stories for 30 Years series, we’re highlighting the individuals whose dedication has helped define Gaedeke over the decades.

Today, we’re proud to share a memory from Blaine Morris, whose commitment and leadership embody the spirit that drives our company forward.

Here’s Blaine’s story, in his own words:

“In my 28 years with Gaedeke, there are a couple of moments that really stand out.

One was during our time owning and managing the Museum Tower in Miami. I was leading an energy management system project with Johnson Controls, and the project manager misprogrammed the system points, resulting in everything being out of sync. This led to the plant needing to be run manually to keep tenants comfortable. I ended up camping out in the physical plant for 48 hours straight to keep things online until we could get the system corrected. I have done plenty of 24 to 27-hour marathons over the years, but that 48-hour stretch still holds the record.

Another milestone was the 10-year effort from 2008 to 2018 to bring Gaedeke’s building portfolio through LEED EBOM certification. At the time, we had around 14 buildings, and certifying the entire portfolio was a major undertaking, but a meaningful and rewarding one.”

Blaine’s story is a powerful reminder that true leadership often happens behind the scenes. It shows what dedication, quick thinking, and an unwavering commitment to excellence can achieve.

We are proud to celebrate team members like Blaine who have shaped Gaedeke’s success over the past 30 years.
