DALLAS, TX — Gaedeke Group, a privately owned commercial real estate investment and operating firm, today announced the appointment of Troy Daniel as President & Chief Investment Officer, effective May 21, 2026.
Daniel joins Gaedeke Group with deep expertise spanning commercial real estate, capital markets, investments, and operations. His appointment marks a significant step in the firm’s evolution as it expands its investment platform beyond its core office portfolio.

Most recently, Daniel served as Founding Partner of Trive Capital Real Estate, the real estate platform of Dallas-based private equity firm Trive Capital. Prior to that, he spent 14 years as Partner and Managing Director at Thackeray Partners, a real estate private equity firm, managing five closed-end institutional funds representing over $5B in transactions and serving on the firm’s Investment Committee. His career spans two decades in commercial real estate, capital markets, and investment management.
Daniel is actively involved across the real estate industry and broader community, serving in board and advisory roles with the Texas Real Estate Center, the Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, and a U.S. Treasury-certified community development financial institution (CDFI), among other civic and philanthropic organizations. He has served as a visiting lecturer in graduate real estate programs, including MIT and Columbia, for more than a decade. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

A Dallas resident for 18 years, Daniel is active in the local community. He is married to artist Carolyn Joe Daniel, and they have two children.
