Del Frisco's Grille will open later this year in One McKinney Plaza at McKinney Avenue and Hall Street.
Uptown’s just-remodeled One McKinney Plaza tower has landed a high-profile restaurant tenant.
Del Frisco’s Grille will open later this year in the newly built addition to the office tower at McKinney Avenue and Hall Street.
The restaurant will occupy 8,350 square feet of space on two levels of the building.
Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group LLC, controlled by Dallas-based private equity firm Lone Star Funds, signed a 10-year lease for the corner spot.
Del Frisco’s Grille is a new concept by the company, which is about to open one of the restaurants in Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center. Other locations are planned in Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Florida and Los Angeles.
It’s one of two major restaurants set to open in the heart of Dallas.
On July 12, Dallas-based DRG Concepts will open its third downtown eatery, Wild Salsa, a new regional Mexican restaurant featuring ingredients grown and produced in Texas and focusing on tastes largely from the region around Mexico City.
The restaurant will be at the corner of St. Paul and Main streets on the first level of The Mercantile.
It’s across the street from sister concept Dallas Chop House and up the street from Dallas Fish Market.
Gaedeke Group spent more than $5 million revamping One McKinney Plaza with a new lobby, retail space and other improvements. It was built in the 1980s.
The restaurant Private Social has already rented a spot in the building.
“Of all the buildings they could have chosen in the metroplex, they selected One McKinney Plaza,” Belinda Dabliz, Gaedeke Group vice president, said Tuesday in a statement. “One McKinney is a high-caliber location, and they moved quickly to secure it.”
Weitzman Group brokers Earl Harris and Marc Marrocco arranged the Uptown lease with Kevin McIntosh, partner of Trinity Partners Commercial Real Estate of Southlake.
